WRESTLING FOR SELF DEFENCE

Many street fights end up in clinches or on the ground.  Wrestling is certainly  an exceptionally powerful addition to your self-defence arsenal of skills.  It perfectly complements the other self-defence systems and skills we are seeking to build.

UNPREDICTABLE NATURE OF ATTACKS

Wrestling is one of, if not, the best grappling art that you can cross train with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Krav Maga for several reasons.

Wrestling develops your takedowns.  It requires grit and tenacity.   Wrestlers are mainly known for amazing mental toughness and never give up mentality - an essential survival skill on the street.

Wrestlers need to constantly adapt  - every position is different, and they need to think three steps in advance to be ahead of their opponent. Again this is a very valuable skill in terms of the chaotic and unpredictable nature of a self-defence situation.

This is why dedicated Wrestling Classes will appear on your training schedule,

WRESTLING FOR FUN & FITNESS

Lifting weights and running on the treadmill are great ways to improve your physical fitness, but your lifting sessions are only targeting one or two muscle groups at a time.

Wrestling works your whole body and incorporates every muscle group.

Because your body is moving, pushing, and pulling in so many directions, you’ll discover muscles you didn’t even know you had.

Wrestling also gets your heart rate up.  Because you are focused on the technique at hand, you will probably find you’re able to push yourself further due to being distracted from fatigue.

As they say, the mind gives out before the body, so keeping your mind involved is a great way to push past your cardio limits.
