Krav Maga is a military combat and self-defence system, originally developed for the Israeli Defence Force and used worldwide today by members of Elite Military Special Forces including the U.S. Marines, the Royal Marines, well-known international law enforcement agencies such as the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Krav Maga is based on instinctive movements and is based on a no holds barred mentality.
Krav Maga by design stresses efficiency, aggression and, above all, survival. There are no katas, and rules for competition don't apply on the streets.
Krav Maga also teaches techniques like headbutts, groin strikes, strikes to the back of the head, eye gouges, and throat strikes. All of which would be considered illegal in a sanctioned sport fight or martial arts competition.
Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and its extreme efficiency.
You are trained to be a human, walking weapon; your prime directive is the preservation of life - yours and the lives of others, in the face of a violent encounter.
Like most martial arts, Krav Maga encourages students to avoid physical confrontation. If this is impossible or unsafe, it promotes finishing a fight as quickly and aggressively as possible.
Attacks are aimed at the most vulnerable parts of the body, some causing severe or permanent injury. Some techniques are lethal.
INTELLIGENT & REALISTIC
Students learn to defend against a variety of attacks and are taught to counter in the quickest and most efficient way.
Training in situational awareness is an essential soft skill, given the ever escalating crime in South Africa. Defending against an attack that you didn't see coming reduces your chances of survival.
Unapologetically hard core, our intelligent, realistic, no nonsense system of self-defence can be learned by anyone of any age with little or no prior combat experience.
Krav Maga teaches you how to use leverage and weight distribution to overcome every opponent, even if they are larger and stronger than you are.
Krav Maga is designed to enable a smaller defender to prevail against a larger assailant. Technique and leverage give you a fighting chance . You learn to exploit timing and rhythm to overcome an opponent’s speed.
Most of all you don't meet force with force. You learn to redirect an opponent's powerful strike, using his own bodyweight and energy against him.
You also fight dirty, including groin strikes, eye gouges, eardrum bursting, neck strikes and more.
This is why Krav Maga works well for women.
Our Integrated Combat System is an intensified form of self-defence and requires more than proficiency in Krav Maga. While you will grade in the full Krav Maga syllabus for each belt level, you will ALSO be required to demonstrate proficiency in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Filipino Martial Arts, as well as general MMA Sparring.

WHY SHOULD YOU GRADE?
Grading is a wonderful and extremely valuable experience. You don't grade in order to chase the belt. You grade because it changes you. It elevates you to an entirely new level. You are never the same again. You will find that you are more knowledgeable, more confident and definitely more hard core after grading. Don't let the last point daunt you. You may not feel very "hard core" right now. In the coming weeks we gradually train you up to that level. Your task is to arrive consistently for class. Our task is to help you prepare for this event.
