BELT RANKING SYSTEM
BELT RANKING
We are not a sport. So, is grading appropriate? The answer is yes. We fully recognise that no attacker is going to ask you for your belt rank prior to launching an attack.
Rather, view this as a filing system. Each drawer (or belt rank) contains a new level of knowledge, as well as the associated speed and proficiency.
While you will grade in the full Krav Maga syllabus for each belt level, you will ALSO be required to demonstrate proficiency in Street Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Filipino Martial Arts, as well as general Boxing, Kickboxing/MMA Sparring.

A very good reason to grade is that it provides you with a definite goal. You have to be excellent to grade. And the pursuit of excellence is what we are about. Nothing less cuts it in the street. Secondly, over the many years of teaching, we have found that students change profoundly after grading. It is the process of preparation for a grading that has the biggest effect, and the sense of achievement afterwards is immense.

WHY YOU SHOULD GRADE
Grading is a wonderful and extremely valuable experience. You don't grade in order to chase the belt. You grade because it changes you. It elevates you to an entirely new level. You are never the same again. You will find that you are more knowledgeable, more confident and definitely more hard core after grading. Don't let the last point daunt you. You may not feel very "hard core" right now. In the coming weeks we gradually train you up to that level. Your task is to arrive consistently for class. Our task is to help you prepare for this event.

MAKE THE DECISION NOW!

If you intend to grade in the upcoming session, you will need to make that decision NOW. You cannot leave it until four weeks beforehand to make the necessary commitment.

WHAT IF I'M NOT READY?
If, for any reason, you are not ready when the time comes, we will withdraw you from the grading and look at entering you for the next grading.

Your grading entry fee is only payable three weeks before the grading.
Please note that grading entry fees are not refundable should you drop out of the grading.
